Coca-Cola FSOP All Hands Meeting
Gamified Corporate Experience
Universal Studios, Orlando FL
Creating a new
type of experience
500 Coca-Cola Executives gathered at the Sapphire Falls Hotel in Universal Studios, Orlando to have their annual team meeting.
The goal was to have an event unlike any other they had been to, where people truly connected beyond their traditional teams and enjoyed the experience while reinforcing the leadership directions for the year.
Through Gamification, we had the best time ever, engaging with the guests on a whole new level. In the end, more connections than ever were made, the whole team had an amazing experience around the brand’s values.
Key Outcomes
Increased Connections
More Participant Engagement
Improved Overall Experience
Normally, when asked to design an activation for an internal corporate event, there’s not a whole lot going on in a Creative Director’s head. Normally spaces are limited, guests are familiar with the brand, and nobody is ever looking forward to those events thinking they will be fun.
We saw that setting as an opportunity to bring up the big guns. Let’s give these people the experience of their lives! 500 guests from all levels, ranking from President, Global VPs, Managers, and everything in between.
For the first time in our long lasting relationship with Coca-Cola and LNL Agency, we suggested incorporating Gamification at this event. We’re not going to lie, there were a lot of frowning and confused faces. Luckily for us, we were still hot from our success at Cinemacon, and that gave us enough good will to keep it moving.
The result was an absolute home run. The engagement levels were astonishing. The guest experience was unique and we couldn’t have had better comments from our guests. Like one of the event’s leaders said: “This was completely above our expectations and definitely unlike any Coca-Cola experience we’ve been to”.
Despite the apparently adverse conditions for this event, we leveraged all our knowledge in Gamification and Game Design, and incorporated it in an otherwise boring experience. Every game and mechanic was designed to incentivize specific behaviors that enhanced social connection, team building, collaboration, among others. Guest engagement rate was more than double than expected by anyone, and contrary to our predictions, age and rank weren’t a barrier for people to get involved in the game.
This event set a new standard for us. After 15 years creating stunning events, engaging thousands of people, and always having to give something new to our clients, we are not going back to regular events. There is no logical reason to not incorporate gamification at some level in any event. Yes, we know opportunities to overtake an entire 3 day meeting won’t come to us every day (at least for now), but we are now convinced that Gamification can enhance events at any level, and will soon become the new norm.
